FAQs
What does the subscription box contain?
Every month we’ll send out a box of eight cookies. Four will be our famous double chocolate chip variety, and four will be an exclusive new flavour that changes each month. Each cookie will be individually bagged for freshness and protection during shipping. We’ll also be including an envelope of postcards which will provide ingredients/allergen information, provide a little more info about Cookie Club, tell you a little of the Bom Bom story each month and include a quick problem solving quiz. We also plan to run some competitions and share pictures and stories of Bom Bom Cookie Club members from around the country.
How big are the cookies?
Our cookies are not your average supermarket-sized cookies. Each cookies varies slightly due to the handmade nature of how they are made, but each cookie typically measures 125mm (5 inches) across.
When do you send the subscription box?
Your first box will be shipped the month after your order is processed. For example, if you order a box in the middle of December, your first box will ship in January according to our delivery schedule set out in our T&Cs. All boxes are shipped using a Next Day service. In some cases, boxes may take more than one day to arrive depending on specific delivery circumstances related to the shipping address. Please contact us directly if you are experiencing delivery issues.
Where do you deliver?
All shipments are fulfilled by a next day delivery service to mainland UK excluding the Scottish Highlands. Our courier cannot deliver to PO boxes. Please message us if you are unsure if we will be able to deliver to you.
How is the box shipped?
We bake every cookie on the morning of shipping. Every box is with our courier on the same day and is sent via a next day delivery service to ensure they reach members as fresh as possible. All shipments are fulfilled by a next day delivery service which sends notification of delivery if email or text details are inputted.
Do I need to be at the shipping address to sign for the delivery?
Our courier delivery service does not require a signature and we have designed our packaging to fit through the majority of UK letterboxes. Our box measures 600mm length x 140mm width x 35mm height, and is designed to protect the contents through all stages of the delivery process.
Is the packaging recyclable?
All of the components of our packaging for Cookie Club are recyclable according to local guidelines.
Do you deliver overseas?
Currently, we do not deliver overseas.
I live close by, can I collect?
Yes! We offer collection of boxes from our Canal House site on Lisle Street. Just send us an email to contact@bombompatisserie.com to let us know you'd like to collect (and if it's a one off for the current month, or ongoing). Then, make sure you are signed up to our Cookie Club alerts (enter your email address to the box just above this FAQ section) and we'll let you know the collection date for the upcoming box in advance. We pop in a £5 voucher to all collected boxes to compensate for the delivery charge.
How long do the cookies keep?
Our cookies are best enjoyed on the day of arrival, but are still great as they are within 2 days. We recommend popping them in the microwave for 10-20 seconds on full power for that oven fresh experience. We do not use any preservatives in our recipes.
If you can't get through eight cookies within a few days, the cookies do freeze well. Please see the 'Can I freeze the cookies? FAQ.
Why eight cookies per box?
We decided to include eight cookies in each box with the hope that these are shared with others. We want to encourage people to come together and create communities. Our cafes exist to be the driving force for bringing people together, and Cookie Club is no different. We want Cookie Club to be an extension of the Bom Bom community and so we thought the best way to do this was encourage people to share boxes amongst friends, work colleagues, housemates, their mums and tots group or whoever else they want to bring together. We think eight cookies is a few too many for one or two people to enjoy (you may argue otherwise!), so we hope they will be shared and enjoyed as a group.
Of course, the current COVID-19 circumstances may limit this somewhat, but if you can't get through eight cookies in your household, the cookies do freeze well. Please see the 'Can I freeze the cookies? FAQ.
Can I change the number of cookies in my box?
Due to specific packaging and shipping requirements to ensure cookies arrive in a safe and timely manner, we currently only have the option to send boxes of eight cookies. If you are a larger group, you could consider signing up for multiple boxes.
Can I have my box sent on a different date?
We usually ship all Cookie Club boxes in the first week of each month in large batches. In order to keep Cookie Club efficient and affordable, we do not currently offer the option for members to request a different shipping date. We will be considering this in the future however.
How is payment taken?
If you subscribe on a monthly rolling basis, payment will be taken from your nominated account on the recurrence of your sign-up date each month. If you commit to longer subscriptions then the full, upfront payment will be taken from your nominated account when you sign up, and will repeat on the recurring date of each subscription period. So for example, if you signed up for a 'Pay 6 monthly' subscription on the 9th of January, you will be charged on the day of sign-up and then again every 6 months thereafter: so the 9th July, then the 9th of January the following year and so on.
Can I freeze the cookies?
Whilst we always recommend enjoying your cookies upon arrival, they can be frozen to have at a later date. Keep the cookies in their bags and place in an airtight container if possible. Cookies can be kept frozen for up to one month. To defrost, remove from the freezer and leave at room temperature until thawed. Once thawed, pop in the microwave on full power for 10-20 seconds for that oven fresh experience!
Do you do gluten free, vegan or nut free cookie boxes?
We’re just starting out with Cookie Club, so for the moment we cannot cater for a variety of dietary requirements. We hope to be able to offer this in the future. Our classic chocolate chip cookies do not contain any nut ingredients but are made in a kitchen that handles nuts. Each month’s new flavour may contain nut ingredients, but will always be packaged separately to the classic chocolate chip cookies. If you have a severe nut allergy we would not recommend signing up.
Can I send my box to someone else?
Yes! If you would like to send your regular box to someone else, please contact us and we can amend the shipping address. Changes to the shipping address must be made at least five days before the end of the month. You will need to contact us in order to change the delivery address back to your own address once the order has been sent.
Alternatively, you can gift a subscription to another person by selecting the ‘As a gift’ option from this page. The difference between a subscription 'For myself' and 'As a gift' is that gift subscriptions do not automatically renew once the selected period has finished.
Why is the product out of stock?
We are currently taking limited numbers of subscribers to ensure we can fulfil all orders to a high standard. If the product is listed as Out of Stock then is is because we have recehd capacity for the next box. In such instances, you can be alerted of subscriptions becoming available by signing up to our newsletter by providing your email address on this page.
